Hello and Welcome to Never Die!!

We are a new Permadeath Guild on the Orien server for DDO.com

Permadeath is a playing system where you create a character and start at level 1.  At anytime if your character dies you must either delete that character or remove them from the Guild.  Afterwards, you can build a new character and start over again.

I started Never Die on December 12, 2009 because I wanted to start playing Permadeath with all my characters.  There is nothing wrong with normal DDO, however, Never Die may make things more exciting for you if you are a long time player or may insipire you to improve your DDO playing if you are a new one.

My approach to running a Guild will be that everything is open for discussion and everything can be changed according to the input of ALL group members.  All players must behave in a civil manner and bad language must be kept at a minimum.  Of course, if your level 14 paladin dies in an unexpected trap we will understand if you let out some emotional words!!

Here are the rules:

1.  If your character's HP total reaches -10 then that character is finished.  The only exception is if you are with a party member who can cast raise dead on you who started the quest with you.  But remember characters must be within 3 levels to adventure together.  You may not use ddo store res cakes or similar items.

2.  Only items found in PermaDeath (PD) quests or purchased at apocatheries/vendors/brokers may be used by Guild members (you may not buy at auction or trade w non guild members).  You may not use items from the DDO store but you may use festival coin bought items.

3.  Consummables from quests will be divided among party members according to a pre quest agreement.

4.  Resurrection shrines are prohibited permanently.  Rest shrines may only be used for quests that have been tested by guild members and determined to require a rest.  However, it is recommended to attempt all quests without the use of a shrine.  Please contact myself or an officer to determine whether you can rest shrine in a quest and feel free to scout the quest to help the guild decide.

Don't let the no shrines rule scare you.  I recently soloed misery's peak fairly easily with a 2nd level fighter with the toughness and sheild feats (not a guild member).  I used about 15 healing potions and found around 10 of them.

5.  A player may not repeat a quest at the same difficulty.  The exception is if you are in a party w another player who has not done the quest at that difficulty yet.  This prevents farming easy quests for XP but I hope that our members will not try and take the easy way out with their characters and instead will seek to challenge themselves and gain greater enjoyment and a better sense of accomplishment.

6.  Favor runs can be done.

7.  All optionals should be attempted in a quest as this is in the spirit of Permadeath questing.  We play to have fun on DDO and to complete adventures.

8.  No spoilers!!  Your character only knows where traps are if they spot them.  Of course you can avoid a trap if you have played the quest before and know where it is but please only alert the party if you have spotted it with your character in the game.  However, if the party agrees they want an experienced player to divulge information about a quest either before or during the mission this is acceptable.

9.  A party member may not re enter a quest.  If you recall out of the dungeon you must remain out until the other party members are finished or the instance resets.

10.  Friends don't let friends solo..…  But if you like to solo go ahead… Bring potions and remember if you think you might die in the next fight just recall out and return to town to rethink your strategy (remember you can't re enter the quest until it is reset).  Please make an effort to party with other players and help new players if they require it.  We play to have fun and this guild was created to allow us to have PD fun together.

11.  Write a character Bio or attempt to build an image for your character.  This will help you shape how your character behaves, what items they carry, and the path for advancement they take.  It also adds to the flavour of the game.

12.  Players within a party must be within 3 levels of each other.

13.  An outside player may never be invited into a quest to assist the party after the quest is underway.  Occaisionally an officer may allow an late comer to join a quest if there are no other parties running and if the player joining isn't actively moving from party to party to save or resurrect players.

14.  No hirelings may be used.

15.  Never Die players may only form parties with other Never Die guild members.  If you wish to have more of a challenge by working with random parties use your non Never Die characters.
